Cypress (Texas) Cypress Springs four-star athlete Taye Barber named Clemson one of top 12 schools on Sunday night, along with Arizona, Iowa State, Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma State, Ole Miss, Stanford, Tennessee, TCU, Utah and West Virginia.
Clemson offered Barber in mid-May and is recruiting him as a defensive back. Clemson began showing interest when safeties coach Mickey Conn stopped by his school during the spring evaluation period.
As a junior last season, Barber threw for 844 yards and eight touchdowns while completing 46 of 79 passing attempts. He also rushed for 385 yards and five touchdowns on 86 carries, and recorded nine receptions for 256 yards and a score.
