It’s never too early to look ahead in the recruiting process, so let’s take a sneak peek at one of Clemson’s top outside linebacker candidates for 2020. Kevin Swint already possesses the size (6-3, 200) to add bulk and functional strength…and he’s only a rising sophomore in high school.

The Carrollton (Ga.) product already hosts a bevy of offers from top tier schools, and his recruitment will only grow from here. Swint told The Clemson Insider he plans on taking two visits during the rest of summer.

“I think I’m going to Florida and Auburn this July,” he said.

While Clemson most likely won’t be on his docket this summer, he did say he will try to get on campus “probably during the season.”

Whenever his next visit to Clemson happens, he Swint would like to “show the coaching staff the reason they offered me.”

Swint said Georgia is currently recruiting him the hardest and has several positive things going for them.

“Georgia has a great family type program and their building a great team at this moment,” he said. “They’re keeping Georgia recruits in state.”

Michigan, Ohio state, Alabama, LSU and Florida are currently standing out the most to Swint because of their “great communication.”

Although those have all offered Swint, he mentioned Clemson can easily move up into his favorites by “just showing love and getting on the same page as them.”

Swint told TCI there are several things about Clemson that really stand out to him.

“They’re building a great tradition right now,” he said. “And I would love to be a part of it and be a main frame in it. Making history.”

It is still very early in his recruitment, and Swint said he plans on keeping his options open for a long time to come.

“Not yet I really want to give every school an opportunity to offer me the best things and get a feel for everyone before I cut down my schools,” said Swint.

However, when Swint does finally choose his school, it will be a place with a “welcoming spirit” that evokes a sense of belonging.
