On Thursday afternoon, ESPNU re-aired Clemson’s epic 42-36 come-from-behind victory over Louisville in a matchup of top 5 teams in Death Valley on October 1, 2016.
It wasn’t a pretty game as both teams combined for 8 turnovers (Louisville 3, Clemson 5) and were penalized 17 times (Louisville 11, Clemson 6). Five times Louisville was penalized for procedural penalties, including a costly one on the game’s final drive on fourth down.
Facing fourth-and-12 from the Clemson 14, Jackson hit wide receiver James Quick in the flats. But Clemson defensive back Marcus Edmond pushed Quick out of bounds a yard short of the marker to preserve the win for the Tigers, who went on to win the 2016 National Championship.
In today’s What They Are Saying, The Clemson Insider takes a look at the tweets from some still bitter Cardinals fans as they watched the replay of one of the nation’s best games in 2016.
