Clemson took a 42-3 lead against Kent State with 7:35 to play in the third quarter on a 47-yard touchdown run by Tavien Feaster. The drive consisted of two plays for 55 yards in 34 seconds.

Zerrick Cooper entered the game at quarterback in relief of Kelly Bryant for the drive. Cooper completed an 8-yard out to tight end Shadell Bell on a boot. The following play, on second-and-2, Tavien Feaster took a handoff up the right side for a 47-yard touchdown.
