streak in Clemson history and tied for the second longest active streak in the nation. Oklahoma has 13 and Alabama also has 12.
•Clemson has won 11 consecutive games overall, the longest active winning streak
in the nation. South Florida is second with 10 and Miami (FL) is third with nine.
•Clemson has now won 37 of its last 39 games dating to 2014.
•The Tigers have won 21 of their last 22 against ACC teams and 12 straight away from
home against ACC teams.
•The Tigers have won 18 of their last 19 games played away from home with the only
loss in that stretch to Alabama in the National Championship game at the end of the 2015 season.

Clemson vs. Syracuse Series

This is just the sixth meeting between Clemson and Syracuse. The Orange won the first meeting at the 1996 (end of 1995 season) Gator Bowl in Jacksonville by a 41-0 score.
Clemson was ranked 23rd entering the game and coming off a five-game winning streak to close the season. Syracuse was unranked going into the game, but jumped to 17th in the final USA Today poll with the impressive win. Donavan McNabb quarterbacked Syracuse to that victory.

Since Syracuse joined the ACC in 2013, Clemson has won all four games by at least double digits.

Larry Czonka Nearly a Clemson Tiger?

All-time Syracuse great Larry Czonka visited Clemson during his recruiting process
in 1963 and had the Tigers in his final four schools. According to his Wikipedia page on
the internet, Czonka considered Clemson, Vanderbilt, Iowa and Syracuse.  Recruited by Clemson Coach Frank Howard, Czonka would have been a freshman at Clemson in 1964 and then played in 1965-66 and 1967. Even without Czonka, that was a great era in Clemson football history as the Tigers won the ACC all three years.  Czonka went on to a great career with the Miami Dolphins and New York Giants. He is a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame and the College Football Hall of Fame.

Clemson Has Nation’s Most Balanced Attack

Clemson has one of the most balanced attacks in the nation in terms of yardage.  Clemson averages 471 yards per game, 237.3 yards rushing and 233.7 passing. The difference in yardage between rushing and passing for the course of the season is just 22 yards. The Tigers have 1424 yards rushing and 1402 yards passing for 2826 total.
Clemson is one of just three teams in the nation averaging at least 230 yards rushing and 230 yards passing. Ohio State averages 245 rushing and 322 passing, while
Oregon has 239 yards a game rushing and 254 passing.

Clemson’s Second Friday Night Game since 1956

This will be Clemson’s second regular season game on a Friday since November 16, 1956. The Tigers played a Friday night game last year at Boston College and came away with a 56-10 victory.  Prior to that game in Boston last year, Clemson had not played a
Friday game since that game in 1956 at Miami. Miami (FL) won that game 21-0 in Miami. Prior to last year, the last time Clemson won a Friday night game was in 1952, a 13-0 win over Boston College at Braves Field.  Clemson has played more games on Fridays in the regular season over its history than one would think. This will actually be the 44th regular season game in Clemson football history played on a Friday. The Tigers are 24-14-5 in Friday regular season games.

Clemson Seniors Looking for 26th ACC Regular Season Win

This group of Clemson seniors has a 25-3 record in ACC regular season games entering Saturday’s game at Syracuse. A victory would give this senior group 26 wins in league play tied for third best in school history. If this class wins its last four games it would set the school record for ACC regular season wins in a four year period. The record is
28-4 by each of the last two senior classes.
