Thomaston (Ga.) Upson-Lee 2019 four-star defensive lineman Travon Walker named Clemson one of his top four schools on Monday via social media, along with Alabama, Georgia and South Carolina.
Walker (6-4, 240) has offers from Alabama, Florida State, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Kentucky, LSU, Michigan, South Carolina and Tennessee in addition to Clemson.
Walker received an offer from Clemson in January before visiting Clemson for the first time during the Dabo Swinney Camp in June. He returned to Clemson this season for the Tigers’ game against Auburn on Sept. 9.
Clemson defensive line coach Todd Bates has made Walker a priority D-line target in the 2019 class. He paid him a visit during the spring evaluation period this year and also visited his high school to watch him compete last month.
The Clemson Insider recently caught up with Walker, who spoke about his relationship with Bates.
“If I had to explain it, it would have to be like one of my closest cousins,” Walker said. “We just bond like that.”
Walker could project at either defensive end or tackle at the next level. He is ranked as a top-50 prospect in the 2019 class regardless of position.
