Brownell discusses opening win against WCU

The Clemson men’s basketball team rolled past Western Carolina, 85-57, in its home opener Friday night at Littlejohn Coliseum in Clemson.

Donte Grantham led Clemson with 14 points and 5 rebounds, while Elijah Thomas and Gabe DeVoe each had 11 points.

Head coach Brad Brownell was glad to see freshman Aamir Simms and redshirt freshman Anthony Oliver contribute on the court as Simms had six points and Oliver had five points. Each had two assists as well.

The Tigers (1-0) will back in action Sunday afternoon to take on North Carolina A&T at 2 p.m.
