Wilkins named Academic All-District

Clemson defensive tackle Christian Wilkins has been named to the Academic All-District team according to the College Sports Information Directors of America.  Wilkins is a junior athletically, but a a senior in the classroom who will graduate in December.

Wilkins was named to the Academic All-ACC team in 2015 and 2016, but this is the first time he has been named Academic All-District.    He boasts a 3.32 GPA in Communications.

The native of Springfield, Mass. was named a first-team All-American on the field last year when he helped the Tigers to the National Championship. So far this year Wilkins has 37 tackles, including seven tackles for loss and four sacks.  He has six quarterback pressures.

Wilkins and the Tigers face The Citadel at Clemson on Saturday afternoon in a game that kicks off at 12:20 pm.
