COLUMBIA, S.C. — Third-ranked Clemson ran No. 24 South Carolina out of Williams-Brice Stadium on Saturday night with a 34-10 rout of the Gamecocks. It marked the Tigers’ fourth straight victory against South Carolina in the rivalry series.

After the game, The Clemson Insider reached out to a number of Clemson commits and prospects for their reactions to Clemson’s win. Here’s what they had to say:

Clemson commit Jake Venables, 2018 LB, Central (S.C.) Daniel: “My prediction was 41-0… Kinda close, haha. All I have to say is “fear the thumb.”

Clemson commit Darnell Jefferies, 2018 DL, Covington (Ga.) Newton: “I knew we would win. We had a great game plan on the defensive side that caused two interceptions. And our offense came out and executed every play on the field.”

Clemson commit BT Potter, 2018 K, Rock Hill (S.C.) South Pointe: “Great win with all of the obstacles they had to overcome. Really happy for the program.”

Clemson commit Josh Belk, 2018 DL, Richburg (S.C.) Lewisville: “It was amazing! Seeing how the Tigers kept their composure no matter the circumstances throughout the game was great. Also seeing how coach Swinney stood up for the players. Just a great team of players, coaches and also the fans. Can’t wait to move in and be a part of that!”

Clemson commit Braden Galloway, 2018 TE, Seneca (S.C.): “The D set the tone early, and then the offense fed off of that and made big plays, and very few mistakes. That’s a big confidence booster going into the ACC Ship for sure. I was proud of them boys!”

Clemson commit Brannon Spector, 2019 ATH, Calhoun (Ga.): “I felt like it was great rivalry win for Clemson and they played awesome on both sides of the ball!”

Jordan McFadden, 2018 OL, Roebuck (S.C.) Dorman: “I’m really happy for them and happy they won. I knew Clemson had the better team and I was just hoping they would play like it!”

Noah Cain, 2019 5-star RB, Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy: “Clemson is looking strong as ever right now.”

Ramel Keyton, 2019 4-star WR, Marietta (Ga.): “I like the way everybody played. There was no slack in their game. I can see them winning the championship again.”

Jacoby Pinckney, 2019 4-star WR, Roebuck (S.C.) Dorman: “I think it was a pretty dominant performance. USC played hard, Clemson played smarter.”

Steele Chambers, 2019 4-star ATH, Roswell (Ga.) Blessed Trinity: “It was a solid game they played as I anticipated. Clemson has a very intense and solid defense.”

Kendrell Flowers, 2019 RB, Irmo (S.C.): “I knew from the early pick-six, Clemson’s momentum was high. I was hoping for a good game but Clemson being the better team they pulled away like a championship team would do.”

Rahjai Harris, 2020 RB, Duncan (S.C.) Byrnes: “Was a very big win for Clemson! I was very happy.”

Alex Huntley, 2020 DL, Columbia (S.C.) Hammond School: “Going into it, I knew Clemson would win. I was mostly focused on watching the D-line. They look great and always wreak havoc on the other team’s offensive line.”

Tyler Venables, 2020 ATH, Central (S.C.) Daniel: “I think the defense just physically dominated them all night through the air and on the ground.”
