Clemson defensive coordinator Brent Venables said all the talk and rumors he was looking and thinking about leaving Clemson was just everybody else spending the time on it and not necessarily his doing.
“I know where my focus has been,” Venables said following Thursday’s practice as the Tigers prep to play No. 4 Alabama in the Sugar Bowl on New Year’s Day. “Once in a while someone calls and you accidentally pick it up and then they talk to you and then you decide to continue you (the conversation) or you don’t.
“Just like I tell recruits all the time, you are in control of this process, it is not the other way around. Again, I have an incredible job. I work with incredible young people and an incredible staff. What we have at Clemson is not the norm, in any profession, let alone college football.”
