Clemson used a 15-4 run over the last five minutes of the first half to gain control of the game and then used two more similar runs in the second half as the Tigers rolled to a 78-62 victory over NC State Saturday at Littlejohn Coliseum.
All five starters scored in double digits, including 18 points and five assists from Marcquise Reed. He also had six rebounds. Elijah Thomas added 10 points and 10 rebounds for a double-double, while Gabe DeVoe dropped in 15 points and had seven rebounds.
Donte Grantham scored 13 points, while Shelton Mitchell dropped in 14 points and had four assists. Grantham also had nine rebounds.
Clemson held NC State 26 points under its season average.
