Clemson’s first scholarship offer in 2018 went out to a four-star Class of 2018 defensive back from California.
Olaijah Griffin of Mission Viejo, Calif., reported the offer from Clemson on Tuesday night via social media.
“God’s Good! Blessed to say I’ve been offered a scholarship to Clemson University!” Griffin wrote in a post on Twitter.
Griffin (6-0, 172) de-committed from UCLA on Dec. 30. He is ranked as a top-five cornerback and top-50 prospect nationally by a couple of the major recruiting services.
Along with Clemson, Griffin lists offers from Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Michigan, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Oregon, TCU, Tennessee, UCLA, USC and Washington among others.
As a senior this season, Griffin recorded 49 tackles, 11 pass deflections, two interceptions and three caused fumbles. He also caught 33 passes for 874 yards and 12 touchdowns on offense.
Griffin will play in the 2018 Under Armour All-America Game on Jan. 4 in Orlando, Fla.
