4-star OT Michael Tarquin updates his recruitment
Michael Tarquin is a target of many major programs as one of the Southeast’s top 2019 offensive linemen. The four-star from Belleview (Fla.) has no shortage of college options as evidenced by his list of approximately two dozen scholarship offers.
Clemson is one of the schools in heavy pursuit of Tarquin, who said he continues to hear often from offensive line coach Robbie Caldwell.
“Every week,” Tarquin told TCI. “He likes me. He sends me stuff about what is going on with Clemson.”
Tarquin (6-5, 290) competed at the Dabo Swinney Camp in 2016 before receiving an offer from the Tigers last May.
In addition to Clemson, Tarquin touts offers from Auburn, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Florida, Florida State, Miami, Michigan, LSU and plenty of others.
Tarquin feels two schools have been recruiting him the hardest and said they currently lead for his services.
“Oklahoma, Ohio State,” he said.
While those programs have the upper hand as it stands now, Tarquin doesn’t plan to make his decision until sometime in the spring.
Clemson remains squarely in the hunt.
“I like the tradition,” Tarquin said when asked what stands out about Clemson. “And the Clemson family.”
Tarquin said he plans to visit Oklahoma again next week. This past season, he attended games at Oklahoma, Ohio State, Clemson, Miami and South Carolina.
Tarquin is ranked as the No. 20 offensive tackle and No. 160 overall prospect in the 2019 class by the 247Sports composite.
