As Kendall Joseph was being interviewed by the media last week, Clemson’s senior linebacker wasted no time giving Mike Jones a shout out as he walked by.
Jones is Clemson’s phenom freshman. Many think he could possibly help the Tigers this season. The 6-foot-one, 228-pound linebacker is one of three players this spring vying to replace All-American Dorian O’Daniel at the strong side linebacker position.
Joseph said he sees a lot of similarities between Jones and O’Daniel.
“Mike Jones? He’s a little eager. Especially playing linebacker under Coach V (Venables), he was a little tense at first,” Joseph said. “But he’s very knowledgeable for being such a young guy, very athletic, and he’s a spitting image of Dorian O’Daniel. They kind of have the same frame, same athleticism. I have high expectations for Mike Jones.”
