Back When: Leggett

The summer recruiting season is in full-swing. Unfortunately, real, live college football is still a couple of months away.

With that in mind, TheClemsonInsider is taking a look back at the recruitment of each returning player on the Clemson roster.

Former Clemson offensive coordinator Chad Morris stopped by Navarre High School during the January evaluation period in 2012, to drop off an offer to Leggett. It was offer No. 1 for Leggett, who was a junior at the time.

Offers from Louisville, UCF and USF soon followed.

Leggett’s first Clemson trip was a few months later when he was in town for the March junior day event. He was committed to the Tigers’ 2013 signing class before exiting the campus.

In June, he was back for the Dabo Swinney Football Camp, to work with position coach Danny Pearman.

With plans to enroll in January, Leggett took his official visit that November.

The former three-star prospect kicked around the idea of taking an official visit to Missouri in December, but the trip never transpired. Miami and Louisville also tried to coax Leggett into official visits.

Leggett enrolled at Clemson a few days after the Chick-fil-A Bowl win against LSU.
