We continue our series looking at the freshmen that will have a significant impact this season. Today we take a look at Ray Ray McCloud.
McCloud, who played in the Under Armour All-American game, is another explosive playmaker that will be added to the Clemson offense. He is one of those players that can take it to the house any time he touches the ball. That of course will be the challenge, to find ways to get him the ball with all of the other playmakers on offense.
The All-American will transition from running back to receiver at Clemson. He will play the same position as Artavis Scott.
Expect to see Ray Ray as one of the kick returners as the season progresses. Also don’t be surprised to see him in the backfield at times this season as the coaches look for ways to get the ball in his hands with space.
McCloud’s playing time should increase as the season progresses and he learns the offense. Imagine the Tigers on 3rd and 12 going to a five wide with Scott, Peake, Williams, Cain and McCloud. That will give defenses nightmares.
Coach Elliott and coach Scott will have their work cut out trying to distribute the ball to all of the playmakers this season, but expect Ray Ray to get more touches as the season progresses. Another Florida great will do great things for the Tigers.
