Clemson will close out the 2015 home schedule with Wake Forest. It’s only fitting that the Tiger coaches will host several highly sought after prospects.
Former South Carolina wide receiver commitment Bryan Edwards (Conway) headlines the non-committed prospect list. Recruited to Clemson as a safety, Edwards was on campus earlier this month for the Florida State game.
TCI confirmed Edwards’ official visit to Clemson after news broke that he was no longer committed to South Carolina.
In a statement to Matt Connolly of The State, he said:
“After giving it a lot of thought, I have decided to reconsider my commitment to South Carolina. I plan to visit a few other schools. South Carolina is still very high on my list.”
Edwards will be joined by fellow former Gamecock pledge P.J. Blue. The Montgomery, Ala. four-star was also on campus as an unofficial visitor for the Florida State game. Saturday’s trip will be another unofficial.
He’ll be joined by a pair of teammates from Park Crossing: 2017 quarterback Malik Cunningham and 2018 lineman Tank Jenkins.
Cunningham lists offers from Georgia, Kentucky, Louisville, Toledo and Troy. Jenkins’ offer sheet includes Auburn, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Louisville, LSU and Mississippi State.
The unofficial list includes several offered 2017 prospects, including Eric Crosby, Jonathon MacCollister and Deon Jones.
Crosby, a four-star defensive tackle from Virginia Beach-Ocean Lakes, picked up an offer from Clemson during the May evaluation period. The four-star prospect also has offers from Alabama, Florida, Florida State, Ole Miss, UNC, Ohio State and Tennessee.
MacCollister was originally scheduled to visit Clemson for the Florida State game, but he had to cancel those plans. A three-star lineman out of the Orlando area, MacCollister was offered by Clemson as an offensive lineman the same day the Tigers offered Crosby. Clemson and Auburn are out front for MacCollister, who visited in July.
Jones is a heavy Clemson lean. The four-star from Washington, D.C.-Archbishop Carroll has several notable offers, including Auburn, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Michigan State, Ohio State, Penn State and Tennessee.
Several other 2017 prospects will visit, including Andover, Md. TE Alex Marshall, Laurel, Md. ATH Cameron Sullivan-Brown and Hochston, Ga. OL Tyler Fannin.
Clemson’s first 2017 offensive line pledge, Noah DeHond, will visit for the first time since he committed in August.
Three of the 2016 commitments will be in on official visits: Nyles Pinckney, Tre Lamar and Sean Pollard.
