Tre Lamar, Sean Pollard and Nyles Pinckney were joined by former South Carolina pledge Bryan Edwards as official visitors this weekend.
“Definitely talked with him as much as possible, (to) see what schools he’s looking at, but he said he’s just taking all his official visits right now,” Lamar said, “But we just kind of let him know that this is the spot.”
Edwards, like the trio of commitments, will graduate from high school next month. The Clemson pledges will be joined by Tremayne Anchrum Jr., who committed late last week.
Christian Wilkins was Lamar’s player-host. Because Lamar’s been to Clemson several times over the last year-plus, he’s already gotten to know several of the current players. But he still enjoyed his weekend.
“It was fun. They’re really cool people. It was a good time hanging out with them, trying to know some of the players that I’ll eventually be on the same team with,” Lamar said.
He’s impressed with the Tigers’ 11-0 start.
“Clemson’s had a great season so far. I think the coaches and players have really done well this season and it’s really showing. This season is going great,” Lamar said.
Back home, he’s moving on to the third-round of the Georgia state playoffs with a date against Collins Hill. Roswell is 12-0 after Friday’s 34-15 win over Camden County.
“It’s awesome to go from a team that no one was talking about to a team that’s undefeated. It’s great and we’re trying to take it all the way to the Dome,” Lamar said.
