Clemson remained on top in the latest College Football Playoff Rankings which were released on Tuesday.
This was a big week to be No. 1 for the Tigers. Clemson can secure the No. 1 ranking and the opportunity to select what bowl it wants to play in–The Orange Bowl or The Cotton Bowl–as the No. 1 seed in the College Football Playoffs with a win over North Carolina in the ACC Championship Game on Saturday.
The Tar Heels (11-1) are ranked No. 10 in the College Football Rankings.
Clemson (12-0) has won 15 straight games and just completed its first undefeated regular season since 1981, the year it won its only national championship. The Tigers are also ranked No. 1 in the latest Associated Press and Amway Coaches Poll.
By being ranked No. 1 in the final College Football Playoff Rankings, Clemson now has been ranked longer than any team in the rankings’ short history. It can also be the first team to go wire-to-wire in the poll with a win on Saturday over North Carolina.
