Clemson will be the No. 1 seed in the College Football Playoffs and will play Oklahoma on New Year’s Eve in Miami’s Orange Bowl.
“When we got together and voted, Clemson was clearly the number one team in the country,” said College Football Playoff selection committee chairman Jeff Long.
Clemson (13-0) remained the No. 1 team in the poll thanks to its 45-37 victory over No. 10 North Carolina in the ACC Championship Game on Saturday in Charlotte, N.C.
“We are looking forward to it. Oklahoma is a good team and we are looking forward to it,” said linebacker Ben Boulware to the crowd of 20,000 that gathered at Death Valley on Sunday for the Pizza Poll Party.
