Clemson scored its first visit from Tampa-Hillsborough defensive end Zachary Carter last month for the Florida State game.
The four-star prospect is ranked as the No. 6 strong-side defensive end in the country, according to 247.
Along with Clemson, Florida, Ohio State, Ole Miss and Penn State are among the schools with offers out to Carter.
LSU, Florida, Florida State and Miami received game day visits this fall.
“I remember the crazy atmosphere and I really enjoyed the coaches and what they’re about, and I loved the campus,” Carter said of Clemson.
Marion Hobby, Tony Elliott and Dan Brooks all spoke to Carter, who was offered by the Tigers during the May evaluation period.
“I loved the energy of the fans and just how Clemson played as a team,” Cater said.
Elliott serves as the area recruiter for Carter, but Hobby wants to take on an active role, too.
“Coach Hobby was saying he doesn’t recruit a lot of guys to Clemson, because they only take two guys a year at the position, so he said if I gave them a chance, he’s going to recruit me,” Carter said.
Right now, he has no favorites.
“I’m giving everybody a chance. I don’t really have any favorites,” Carter said.
As a junior, he had 76 tackles (42 solo) and 7.5 sacks.
