Baseball Preview: Schedule Overview

In part four of our season preview, we take a brief look at the 2016 Clemson baseball schedule. Stay tuned to TCI throughout the preseason as we lead up to Opening Day on Feb. 19.

The Tigers will again play a top schedule in 2016, with 17 games coming against teams that played in the 2015 NCAA Tournament. Clemson will play 31 games in the friendly confines of Doug Kingsmore Stadium while also playing two games at Fluor Field in Greenville.

Clemson will host ACC series against Boston College, Florida State, Georgia Tech, NC State and Pittsburgh while traveling to Duke, Louisville, Miami (FL), Notre Dame, and Wake Forest. The Tigers will not face North Carolina, Virginia, or Virginia Tech in regular-season ACC play.

In addition to the 30 ACC games, Clemson will face familiar foes South Carolina, Georgia, and Western Carolina along with games against in-state foes Charleston Southern, College of Charleston, The Citadel, Furman, Presbyterian College, Winthrop, and Wofford.

The 2016 ACC Tournament remains in Durham as the top ten teams in ACC play face off at Durham Bulls Athletic Park. Each regular-season division winner gets the top-two seeds while the remaining teams are comprised of the eight next best ACC regular-season winning percentages. Seeds 7-10 will face off in play-in games on Tuesday before the familiar round-robin play runs from Wednesday to Saturday with the two pool winners facing off in the Championship Game on Sunday.
