Clemson has big date with Georgia Tech

Valentine’s Day might be on Sunday, but for the Clemson basketball team its big date is today when it host Georgia Tech in a key ACC showdown at 2 p.m. at the Bon Secours Wellness Center in Greenville.

Of course there will be no love from either team as Clemson (14-10, 7-5 ACC) looks to keep its NCAA Tournament hopes alive, while the Yellow Jackets hope to get their first win on Clemson’s home floor since 2005.

The Tigers have compiled 10 consecutive wins at Littlejohn Coliseum against Georgia Tech (13-11, 3-8 ACC) dating back to Senior Day in 2006. The 10-game home winning streak is the longest in Clemson history over another ACC opponent.

Overall, the Tigers have won 11 of the last 12 in the series. Clemson’s 10-game winning streak against the Yellow Jackets was broken in Atlanta last February. The Tigers rebounded 13 days later with its 10th straight win at home vs. Tech, a 70-63 overtime victory.
