Following a stolen base, Reed Rohlman doubled to right to score the final run of the inning. Maine cut into the lead with a single run in the top of the third, but Clemson answered right back with four runs in the bottom of the frame. Wilson started the inning with a single before Pinder reached on a two-out infield single. White singled to score Wilson before back-to-back walks to Rohlman and Chris Okey brought in another run. Seth Beer wrapped up the Tiger scoring with a two-run single to stretch the lead to 9-1. The Black Bears would score two runs in the fifth inning and another run in the sixth to cut the lead to 9-4 but were unable to get any closer as the Clemson bullpen finished the game off.
