Byrnes WR calls Clemson his dream school

Byrnes wide receiver Demarcus Gregory would love to add an offer from Clemson.

The 6-foot-3, 195-pound sophomore already has one from NC State.

Last month, while visiting Clemson, the topic came up during a conversation with his recruiter of record, co-offensive coordinator/wide receivers coach Jeff Scott.

“He was saying how I’m high on the board and I’m going to receive some good news pretty soon and to just keep working,” Gregory told TheClemsonInsider.

An offer from the Tigers would mean an awful lot.

“They’ve always been my dream school,” he said.

The rest of the Junior Day visit went well.

“I loved it. I just loved the campus. I loved the coaches. It was a good experience,” Gregory said. “I learned a lot from the receivers. Coach Scott was breaking down stuff.”

NC State, UNC, Tennessee and South Carolina have scored visits in 2016. On Thursday, he’ll head to Wake Forest.

Clemson will host him again on Saturday for the Orange and White spring game. Gregory will be joined by his teammate, 2018 linebacker Khalid Jones.

For Gregory, who caught 20 passes for 463 yards and six touchdowns as a sophomore, several factors will be considered through the recruiting process.

“Campus, education and the coaches, based on their experience and how much they know,” he said.
