Clemson offer means a lot to 4-star defensive end

On May 13, Montvale (N.J.) St. Joseph’s four-star 2018 defensive end Dorian Hardy received an offer from Clemson.

The Clemson Insider recently spoke with Hardy, who said he thinks a lot of the offer.

“It means a lot,” Hardy said. “Clemson is an overall great school.”

There are a few reasons the Tigers pulled the trigger on the offer.

“I feel like they like my size, potential, and they said my tape,” Hardy said.

The 6-foot-4, 245-pounder has traveled all over the place this summer.

Hardy visited Rutgers, Temple, Penn State, Michigan, Michigan State, Virginia Tech, North Carolina, N.C. State and Florida.

“It’s been well so far,” Hardy said of his summer. “Just getting ready for the season.”

Does Hardy plan to visit Clemson down the line?

“Yes, of course,” Hardy said.

When the time comes, Hardy is looking forward to seeing a few things at Clemson.

“The football facilities, coaches, campus and academic center,” Hardy said.

Along with offers from Clemson and the schools he visited this summer, Hardy has offers from Alabama, Boston College, Illinois, Indiana, LSU, Miami, Nebraska, Syracuse, Tennessee, Vanderbilt and Wisconsin.

Hardy didn’t name any leaders when asked if any schools are standing out to him.

“It’s too early to say,” Hardy said.

As a sophomore in 2015, Hardy started the final four games of St. Joseph’s season and recorded 3.5 sacks and 6.5 tackles for loss.

Hardy is hoping his junior season will be a memorable one.

“I want to have a great season,” Hardy said, “help my team however I can and win a ring.”

Hardy is rated by the 247Sports Composite as the No. 5 player in New Jersey, the nation’s No. 7 strong-side defensive end and the nation’s No. 153 player overall.
