5-star corner announces commitment to Clemson

ATLANTA, Ga. — Five-star cornerback A.J. Terrell is committed to Clemson.

The product of Atlanta (Ga.) Westlake High School announced his commitment with a video on Friday afternoon.

Terrell, one of the top prospects in the country, chose Clemson over Florida and South Carolina.

Terrell last visited Clemson on Aug. 7 to watch the Tigers practice during fall camp. He also visited Clemson twice in July, including for the All In Cookout on July 22.

Along with Clemson, Florida and South Carolina, Terrell had offers from Alabama, Auburn, Georgia, Kentucky, Michigan, Mississippi State, Nebraska, North Carolina, N.C. State, Notre Dame, Ole Miss, Tennessee and Virginia Tech, among others.

The 6-foot-2, 180-pounder is rated by Rivals.com as the No. 1 cornerback in the nation and the No. 8 player overall in the class of 2017.

Terrell is the 13th member of Clemson’s 2017 recruiting class.

TCI is in Atlanta and will have more from Terrell and his high school coach this afternoon about his announcement and his decision to pick Dabo Swinney and the Clemson Tigers.
