Clemson commitments Chase Brice and LeAnthony Williams, along with priority Clemson targets Trevor Lawrence and Xavier McKinney, competed for Georgia state championships on Saturday at the Georgia Dome in their respective classifications.
Cartersville five-star quarterback Lawrence went 14-of-28 passing for 196 yards and two touchdowns in the first half of Cartersville’s game against Thomson, as Cartersville raced out to a 34-7 lead at halftime and eventually won the Class 4A state title, 58-7.
Later on Saturday, facing off against Williams and McKinney of Roswell High, Grayson quarterback Chase Brice led his team to a 23-20 overtime victory and Class 7A state championship. Brice completed 18 of 27 passes for 238 yards and three touchdowns.
