Ammons commits to Clemson

Clemson has picked up its second commitment from a local prospect in as many days.

Class of 2019 left-handed pitcher Ryan Ammons of Piedmont (S.C.) Wren High School committed to head coach Monte and the Tigers on Tuesday. He follows Anderson (S.C.) T.L. Hanna 2019 infielder Regan Reid, who gave his pledge to Clemson on Monday.

Ammons (6-0, 150) earned second-team All-Region 4A honors by Diamond Prospects last season.

He plays summer ball for the Blue Chip Bulls, a showcase team based out of Anderson.
