Alpharetta (Ga.) Milton 2019 linebacker Allen Walker was among the prospects Clemson hosted for its game against Wake Forest on Saturday.
It marked the second visit to Death Valley this season for Walker, who attended the Tigers’ season opener versus Kent State on Sept. 2, as well.
“I really enjoyed it,” Walker said. “It’s so nice there, and the environment is just flawless.”
Walker transferred to Milton in the summer of 2016. After a strong finish to his sophomore season, he had a good spring and began attracting attention on the recruiting trail.
Mississippi State extended Walker’s first offer in June, while schools such as Georgia, LSU, Notre Dame and Penn State are showing interest along with Clemson.
Walker had a chance to catch up with Clemson defensive coordinator Brent Venables and assistant coach Mike Reed while on campus.
“They said that they have their eyes on me,” Walker said, “and that our school is a powerhouse.”
Walker has been to some other schools including Alabama, but said his experiences at Clemson stand out.
“It’s definitely a better bond with the coaches and feels more like home,” he said.
The recruiting process figures to keep picking up for Walker as an upperclassman. The junior is performing well and plans to visit Notre Dame, Mississippi State and West Virginia among others.
The 6-foot-2, 195-pounder feels he has a lot to offer as a player.
“My athleticism, my frame, my ability to get to the quarterback and in coverage,” he said.
Thus far this season, Walker has 27 tackles, including 20 solo tackles and a tackle for loss. He also has a 43-yard interception return.
