Recruits react to Clemson's win at NC State

Following a slow start at Carter-Finley Stadium on Saturday, Clemson rallied and found a way to beat N.C. State 38-31.

After the game, The Clemson Insider reached out to a number of commits and recruits for their reactions to the Tigers’ victory. Here’s what they had to say:

Clemson commit Josh Belk, 2018 DT, Richburg (S.C.) Lewisville High: “I was at the game actually. It was a great win, especially because they came out a little slow at the beginning. They went into the locker room at the half and talked about what the improvements needed to be. But when they came out, they sparked it to a whole other level. A level that no one can elevate to. They’re All In.”

Clemson commit Braden Galloway, 2018 TE, Seneca (S.C.) High: “It was going to be one of our tougher ones, but everybody stayed calm especially KB2. And the O-line played one of their best games. And the D stepped up big time. It was a good team win, and that’s big, because that was basically for the division.”

Clemson commit Darnell Jefferies, 2018 DT, Covington (Ga.) Newton High: “Wow… I had confidence in the Tigers! I knew we would pull it out, but it did take a few years of my life! The defense held when it absolutely had to and the offense scored when it had to, so it was a good day at the office. A successful business trip is always a good business trip!”

Clemson commit Kyler McMichael, 2018 DB, Norcross (Ga.) Greater Atlanta Christian School: “I was impressed! Especially with the depth they were dealing with at the DB position.”

Clemson commit B.T. Potter, 2018 K, Rock Hill (S.C.) South Pointe High: “It was a huge win for the team and I was super excited for them.”

Clemson commit Jake Venables, 2018 LB, Central (S.C.) Daniel High: “They had me drenched in sweat, but found a way to win!”

Clemson commit Brannon Spector, 2019 ATH, Calhoun (Ga.) High: “It was a big road win in a tough environment and a huge step closer to reaching the ACC championship.”

Noah Cain, 2019 RB, Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy: “That was a great team road win.”

Ramel Keyton, 2019 WR, Marietta (Ga.) High: “Good team win. The defense stepped up in the end.”

Michael Tarquin, 2019 OL, Belleview (Fla.) High: “Clemson is doing great.”

Bryn Tucker, 2020 OL, Knoxville (Tenn.) Catholic High: “Big win and they deserved it.”
