Clemson offers 2018 Virginia commit

Washington (D.C.) St. John’s College High three-star cornerback D.J. Brown reported an offer from Clemson on Thursday via social media.

“Blessed to receive an offer from Clemson University!” Brown wrote in a post on Twitter.

Brown (6-1, 185) has been verbally committed to Virginia since July but did not sign during the early period. He made his official visit to Virginia in November and plans to take more visits before national signing day in February.

South Carolina offered Brown on Wednesday. Since pledging to Virginia, he has picked up offers from Duke, California, Louisville, Notre Dame and others.

Brown is ranked as a top-10 prospect in D.C. per Rivals. He will play in the Under Armour All-America Game, which kicks off at 6 p.m. Thursday and will be televised on ESPN2.

Brown’s offer marks the second extended by Clemson so far in 2018. The Tigers also offered a cornerback on Tuesday in Mission Viejo (Calif.) four-star Olaijah Griffin.
