Lee’s Summit (Mo.) West four-star cornerback Mario Goodrich has received an offer from Clemson, he announced late Wednesday night.
Goodrich (6-2, 180) is a top-150 prospect in the 2018 class according to all of the major recruiting services. He committed to Nebraska last May before reopening his recruitment in early December.
Clemson cornerbacks coach Mike Reed paid a visit to Goodrich last spring. Goodrich told TCI at the time that he was interested Clemson.
“I’m interested,” Goodrich said. “I don’t really know too much. I know it’s a nice campus. … I obviously know that they won the national championship (in 2017).”
Besides Clemson, Goodrich has offers from Arkansas, LSU, Florida, Missouri, Oklahoma State, Ole Miss, Oregon and others.
In 11 games as a senior last season, Goodrich recorded 49 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss, 15 pass deflections and an interception. He is ranked by Rivals as the No. 12 cornerback and No. 95 overall prospect nationally.
Goodrich is the fourth Class of 2018 cornerback that has reported an offer from Clemson this calendar year. The others are Mission Viejo (Calif.) four-star Olaijah Griffin, Lawrenceville (Ga.) Archer four-star Taiyon Palmer and Washington (D.C.) St. John’s College High three-star D.J. Brown.
