The ACC went 31-11 during the opening week of the 2013 season, with six teams (Florida State, Georgia Tech, Miami (FL), North Carolina, Virginia, and Virginia Tech) sporting undefeated records. Seven teams (Florida State, Georgia Tech, Miami (FL), NC State, North Carolina, Virginia, and Virginia Tech) are ranked in at least one of the three major polls this week led by the top-ranked Tar Heels. The three teams slated to join the ACC in coming seasons (Louisville, Notre Dame, and Pittsburgh) also started strong by going a combined 8-2 to open the season.

Last weekend the Eagles dropped two of three games at the Country Inn & Suites Invitational at Elon, NC. This weekend Boston College heads to Greenville, NC for the Keith LeClair Classic where they will play three games in two days at East Carolina.

The Blue Devils dropped two of three games at #16 Florida to open the season. This coming weekend Duke hosts Bucknell for a three-game series before traveling to North Carolina A&T on Tuesday and returning home to face Campbell on Wednesday.

The Seminoles, ranked as high as #9 in the nation, opened the season by sweeping Rhode Island before winning a midweek game over Jacksonville. This weekend Florida State continues their season-opening home stand with a three-game series against South Florida

The Yellow Jackets, ranked as high as #16 in the country, started the season strong with four wins in the first week. This coming weekend Georgia Tech welcomes St. John’s (NY) to Atlanta before traveling to Statesboro for a two-game midweek set with Georgia Southern.
