Clemson wins 16-6 as the defense held Syracuse to 170 yards and did not allow a touchdown, while running back Wayne Gallman rushed for 101 yards. The Tigers are 6-2 and 5-1 in the ACC.

That is four sacks by the Clemson defense tonight. Cuse had given up five all season prior to tonight’s game.
Stoudt throws his second touchdown pass of the season and gives Clemson a 16-6 lead with 14:28 to play in the game. The drive was 7 plays for 73 yards and took 2:14. The Touchdown pass was 19 yards. That end the no offensive touchdown streak in Death Valley at 8.
Clemson has now gone eight quarters without an offensive touchdown in Death Valley. That dates back to the NC State game.
That was the first completed pass over the middle tonight for Clemson. It went 17 yards. The Tigers lead 9-6 as they head to the fourth quarter.

That was just the second time this year the Tigers did not score in the first quarter. The other was at Florida State.
That is the end of the first quarter and the Cuse leads 3-0. Clemson had 29 total yards and Syracuse had 77 yards.
Syracuse strikes first with a 43-yard field goal. That was a 13-play, 63 yard drive that took 5:00. The Cuse was 1 for 3 on third downs on that drive and a fourth down conversion.
Clemson has 2 sacks already. Cuse came into the game giving up only five total sacks which ranked fourth in the nation.
Stoudt took a hit as he was released and Cuse gets the interception. I thought that was the right call.

Also, I just met Nancy O’Dell down on the field and let me say, she left me speech less. She is gorgeous.
A couple of observations from the field. First off, Syracuse players are still talking trash. You think they might have learned there lesson last year. I saw several players smack talking to the Clemson players during and after pregame warmups.
Secondly, the Cuse players are very small compared to the Clemson players. I mean like Clemson was to Alabama in 2008.
Syracuse is wearing all white today with a white helmet with an Orange “S”. I guess we can call them the White today instead of the Orange. This is two years Clemson has played Syracuse and they have not worn any orange. They wore all blue last year against Clemson.
