IMG Academy 2018 four-star running back Asa Martin plans to visit at least one school during the season.
“Definitely going to Ole Miss,” Martin said during a recent interview with The Clemson Insider. “Maybe Penn State and Michigan State.”
Clemson is another school Martin hopes to get to in the future.
“I really want to get up to Clemson,” he said.
When Martin visits, it will likely be with teammate and 2018 Clemson linebacker commitment Mike Jones.
“I’m going to visit with him,” Martin said. “He’s been talking to (the coaching staff) for me.”
Martin currently has offers from Baylor, Buffalo, Georgia, Maryland, Ole Miss, Tennessee, Troy, UCF and West Virginia.
In IMG’s season opener at Grayson (Ga.) High School last Saturday, Martin rushed three times for 13 yards. Quarterback and Texas A&M commit Kellen Mond had most of his team’s carries with 33.
“Thought I played pretty good,” Martin said. “Not my best game by far, but think I did pretty good overall.”
The 6-foot, 195-pounder said playing on ESPN was “really cool.”
“Something I’ve always dreamed of doing,” Martin said.
Martin transferred to IMG after two seasons at Austin (Decatur, Ala.) High. As a sophomore in 2015, Martin ran for 1,374 yards and 12 touchdowns on 179 carries.
