Clemson’s Alex Eubanks is a right-handed pitcher from Moore, S.C. As one of the regular starters in this year’s weekend rotation, Eubanks has done exceptionally well with his opportunities on the mound.

The Clemson Insider had the chance to talk to Eubanks about his personal interests and hobbies that go beyond the field.

Who is your favorite MLB player and why?

Eubanks: “Right now I would say Kyle Hendricks. Just because of the way he pitches. He’s just a pitcher and he doesn’t have overpowering stuff and I try to kind of emulate him. Some of the guys make fun of me because I watch him so much. But yeah I’d say Kyle Hendricks.”

When you’re not playing baseball what are you doing?

Eubanks: “I love to hunt and fish. I’m a big outdoors guy. I love to hunt and fish and spend time with my family.”

Do you have any hidden talents that most people wouldn’t know about?

Eubanks: “I can kind of call a turkey with my mouth. And I can touch my nose with my tongue too so I guess that’s another one.”

What is your favorite movie?

Eubanks: “I’d have to say The Sandlot. It’s a classic.”

What has been your best memory at Clemson so far?

Eubanks: “My best memory… definitely winning the ACC Championship. I mean we come here to win championships and being able to experience that with those guys was unbelievable and a moment I’ll never forget.”

If your baseball facility could have one of the fun activities the new football complex has what would you want it to be?

Eubanks: “One hundred percent the golf simulator. We’ve been trying to get one in here so hopefully one day we can get one.”

What is the one food you can’t live without?

Eubanks: “Eggs. Definitely eggs. I eat five eggs and five pieces of bacon every single morning so 100-percent eggs.”

Talk about your pre-game playlist.

Eubanks: “All country. That’s all I have on my phone is country music so definitely country.”

How would your friends describe you?

Eubanks: “I kind of goof around a lot but when I’m playing I am very serious. I’m very passionate about baseball and hunting so I’d guess they would say I’m goofy when I’m not playing but when I’m playing I’m pretty serious.”

Where is your favorite place to shop?

Eubanks: “I’d say Cabela’s or Bass Pro Shops. I could live in there for sure.”
