5-star calls Clemson atmosphere an ‘awesome sight’

When you’re one of the best prospects in your state and class, being three years away from college doesn’t matter when it comes to getting recruited by major programs.

That’s the case for Knoxville (Tenn.) Catholic 2020 five-star offensive tackle Bryn Tucker, who is communicating regularly with some of the nation’s top schools — including Clemson.

“I talk to them a lot,” Tucker told The Clemson Insider. “They’re always sending me stuff in the mail and showing a lot of love.”

Tucker (6-5, 290) has reciprocated the Tigers’ interest with a couple of visits to Clemson this year. He attended the Orange & White spring game in April before returning for Clemson’s 14-6 win over Auburn on Sept. 9.

What does Tucker like the most about Clemson?

“The atmosphere,” he said. “Seeing the players getting hyped and the crowd going crazy is just an awesome sight to see. The coaches are awesome, too, and the discipline of the team.”

Tucker has no shortage of college options, and his list of choices is likely to grow longer. He already holds offers from Alabama, Louisville, LSU, Mississippi State, Ohio State, Oklahoma, South Carolina and Tennessee among others.

Though Clemson hasn’t yet offered, the Tigers are one of his favorites early in the process.

“It’s up there,” Tucker said of Clemson. “In my top five.”

Tucker visited Alabama on Saturday for its game against Arkansas. He plans to visit Tennessee (vs. LSU) on Nov. 18 and could visit Notre Dame (vs. N.C. State) on Oct. 28, as well.

He is ranked as a top-five offensive tackle and top-30 overall prospect in his class.
