Clemson is winning in the classroom, too

Clemson is not only winning on the football field these days, but the Tigers are winning in the classroom as well.

Clemson’s graduation rate is ranked third among the 12 teams playing the New Year’s Six Bowl Games and first among those in the College Football Playoff. The Tigers have a graduation rate of 85 percent, which is third behind Central Florida at No. 1 and No. 2 Miami.

Among the four CFP teams, Clemson led the way with its 85 percent, while Alabama was second at 84 percent, Oklahoma 72 percent and Georgia way down at 53 percent.

Clemson and Alabama, who will play each other in the Sugar Bowl on New Year’s Day as part of the College Football Playoff Semifinals, is tied in their overall APR scores at 980 and both ranked inside the top 15 of the 78 teams that are playing in bowl games this holiday season. Oklahoma had a score of 965, followed by Georgia’s 961.

Clemson and Alabama are tied with Auburn for No. 13 on the APR  list.
