Recapping the latest Clemson offers

With its 2018 signing class in the books, much of Clemson’s focus is now on recruiting for the class of 2019.

This week, seven 2019 prospects reported offers from Clemson, including three defensive linemen, two cornerbacks, one linebacker and one tight end.

The Clemson Insider recaps the Tigers’ latest offers right here:

  • Keith Maguire, 2019 LB, Malvern, Pa. (Malvern Prep):

Clemson offered: Feb. 13

Other notable offers: Baylor, Boston College, Duke, Maryland, North Carolina, Northwestern, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Pittsburgh, Rutgers, Syracuse, Vanderbilt, Virginia, West Virginia

After viewing his junior season highlight tape Monday, Clemson extended an offer to Maguire on Tuesday. Maguire told TCI that Clemson moved into his current Top 3 with the offer, joining Notre Dame and Ohio State. In 2017, Maguire was a first-team All-Inter-Ac selection at both linebacker and wide receiver. He has seen his recruitment take off as a result of the outstanding junior campaign, with nine offers coming in this calendar year, including five Power Five offers. Maguire has made unofficial visits to Northwestern and Notre Dame recently and is planning to attend Clemson’s junior day in early March. He hopes to make his decision by the start of his senior season or during it.

  • Colby Wooden, 2019 DE, Lawrenceville, Ga. (Archer):

FYI: 6-3, 225; 3-star

Clemson offered: Feb. 14

Other notable offers: Arkansas, Auburn, Duke, Florida State, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Indiana, Maryland, Michigan, Michigan State, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Rutgers, South Carolina, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, Virginia, Wake Forest, Wisconsin

After receiving an offer from Clemson on Wednesday, Wooden told TCI that the Tigers have shot up “very high” on his list. He most recently visited Clemson for the Orange & White spring game last April after attending the Tigers’ junior day last March. Of the 22 schools that have offered him thus far, Wooden feels Georgia, Auburn, Tennessee and Clemson are recruiting him the hardest presently. Wooden, who wasn’t sure when he will make his commitment decision, recently visited Georgia and Tennessee. ESPN ranks him as the No. 265 overall prospect in the 2019 class regardless of position.

  • Nathan Pickering, 2019 DL, Seminary, Miss. (Seminary School):

FYI: 6-5, 275; 4-star

Clemson offered: Feb. 15

The top-ranked defensive lineman in the state of Mississippi isn’t planning to commit anytime soon. As a junior, Pickering posted 85 tackles, including 39 for loss and five sacks, en route to first-team All-Mississippi honors by USA TODAY.

Clemson offered: Feb. 15

Other notable offers: Auburn, Boston College, Duke, Florida, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Kentucky, Louisville, Mississippi State, NC State, Notre Dame, Ole Miss, South Carolina, Tennessee, Wake Forest

One of the fastest-rising junior prospects in the country, Eboigbe has exploded onto the national recruiting scene this year. The Tigers offered Eboigbe on Thursday, and he told TCI afterward that “it felt special” to get the offer. Eboigbe is scheduled to visit Auburn on Saturday and has been invited to Clemson’s junior day next month. He has not made a lot of visits yet, though he did recently visit Tennessee, Georgia and Georgia Tech after going to a game at Michigan State last season. Eboigbe is a versatile defensive end that is can play inside as well.

Clemson offered: Feb. 15

Davis, who has more than 40 offers in total, said he will “most likely” make it to Clemson’s junior day next month. He recently made unofficial visits to Miami and Syracuse and is planning to take official visits to Ohio State and Oklahoma in the spring. Last week, Davis formally narrowed down his recruitment when he announced a Top 10 of Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Miami, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Penn State, Syracuse, Texas and Wisconsin. Davis told us that Clemson is now one of his top 10 schools following the offer. He is planning to commit this summer. ESPN considers him the No. 10 cornerback and No. 126 overall prospect in the 2019 class.

  • Derek Stingley Jr., 2019 CB, Baton Rouge, La. (Dunham School):
