Clemson offers big-time Connecticut tackle

Clemson has offered Oakdale (Conn.) St. Thomas More 2020 four-star defensive tackle Tre Williams, he announced via social media Sunday.

“Blessed to receive an offer from Clemson University!!!!” Williams wrote in a Twitter post.

Just a sophomore, Williams (6-3, 290) has well over a dozen offers in total, featuring ones from Florida, Michigan, Ohio State, Penn State, Texas A&M and Virginia Tech.

Williams recorded eight sacks in just six games last season. He is considered the sixth-best defensive tackle and No. 54 overall prospect in the class of 2020.

Former five-star defensive tackle Christian Wilkins is the last player Clemson has signed from the state of Connecticut.
