In the bottom of the fifth, Clemson cut Wofford’s lead to 2-1 on Wharton’s RBI groundout.

Patrick Cromwell and Chris Williams walked to start the frame and advanced to scoring position on Robert Jolly’s sacrifice bunt. After a pitching chance Wharton grounded out to the third baseman scoring Cromwell making it 2-1.
