Brownell, DeVoe discuss Tigers’ loss to UVA

NEW YORK — Clemson’s run in the ACC Tournament came to a halt following Virginia’s 64-58 victory over the Tigers in the semifinals Friday night at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.

It all started well for Clemson. The Tigers jumped out to a seven-point lead in the first half, but soon after found themselves rattled as they missed their last 10 field goals of the first half and were outscored 19-3 in the last 9:32.

Clemson (23-9) rallied back in the second half to cut Virginia’s lead to four points, but the Tigers couldn’t seem to make up for their lost ground.

With the win, the Cavaliers advance to Saturday’s ACC Championship Game.

Following the loss, head coach Brad Brownell and guard Gabe DeVoe spoke to the media.
