Clemson edge rusher Xavier Thomas shined with a disruptive performance on Saturday despite the Tigers ultimately falling to Florida State, 31-24, in overtime at Death Valley.
Thomas recorded his second sack of the season in the fourth quarter, a third-down sack that forced a Florida State punt with the game tied 24-24. The sixth-year veteran had two tackles for loss, a quarterback hurry and four total tackles.
Following the game, Thomas met with the media, discussing what the feeling was like in the locker room after the loss, coach Dabo Swinney’s message to the team, the crowd energy at Death Valley and more.
Thomas had a message for Clemson fans who packed Death Valley for a huge showdown in the ACC.
“Just really appreciate them. They always come and support us, win or loss, and really appreciate the fans coming out to support us,” Thomas said. “No matter the outcome of the game or the outcome of the season, they’re always here for us, so we appreciate them to the fullest.”
