CLEMSON – Clemson’s Brannon Spector spoke to the media earlier this week to discuss last year’s loss to No. 12 Notre Dame and how to turn their performance around come Saturday at Memorial Stadium.
–Spector, who caught two passes in last week’s game against NC State for a total of 16 yards, admitted that handling any loss is tough, especially when the Tigers are 4-4 and coming off their second loss in a row. When asked how to keep the outside noise from getting to their heads, Spector noted that they have to practice what they preach. “For me as a player, that means not going on social media. We know the comments are out there.”
–With the Tigers having lots of injuries in the wide receiver room over the past few years, Spector and others have had to play with the “next man up” mentality, ready to deliver when duty calls. “It’s a tough position with a lot of taxing on the body,” Spector acknowledged. “But someone’s gotta go out there and make plays for the Tigers. It’s been a weird ordeal these past few years [with the injuries].”
