Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney met with the media following his team’s 42-21 victory over Georgia Tech on Saturday at Death Valley.

Swinney gave an injury update on star linebacker Barrett Carter, explaining why he did not play in Saturday’s game.

“Barrett rolled his ankle Wednesday night,” Swinney said. “We thought he was going to be able to go. He did everything he could Thursday and Friday to try to get himself ready, and just didn’t feel stable as he needed to be this morning.”

Carter has started Clemson’s other nine games this season and ranks second on the team with 54 total tackles. The junior has posted seven tackles for loss, two sacks, a pass breakup and five quarterback pressures.
