Clemson Loses Another Player for Season

Clemson has lost another player for the season.

Head coach Dabo Swinney met with the media Sunday evening and told reporters that tight end Sage Ennis tore his ACL in Saturday’s game against Georgia Tech and will have to undergo surgery this week.

“Really hate that for him,” Swinney said. “He was having a really good year for us.”

Ennis has played in all 10 games this season and made one start, which came in the NC State game.

The 6-foot-4, 240-pound redshirt junior recorded three receptions for 52 yards this season.

“He’s made some big plays. One of our most physical guys. A lot of big blocks,” Swinney said. “He does a lot of things that don’t necessarily always show up on the stat sheet. That’s a big loss for us for sure. So, really hate that for him. He was the one major injury that we had.”

Ennis entered this season having caught three passes for 25 yards in 278 offensive snaps over 31 games (one start) since 2020.
