Huge honor for five-star Clemson linebacker commitment Sammy Brown.
The Jefferson (Ga.) High School star has been named the 2023 High School Butkus Award winner as the nation’s top linebacker at the high school level.
Brown’s high school announced the big news via social media Tuesday.
The 6-foot-3, 230-pound senior posted 153 total tackles (12 for loss), a sack and two interceptions this season while rushing for 2,289 yards and 36 touchdowns on offense.
Brown is ranked as high as the No. 11 overall prospect in the 2024 class by ESPN, which ranks him as the No. 1 linebacker in his class.
Clemson landed Brown’s verbal commitment back on June 5.
We already knew it.
Just had to make it official.
