Bad news for the South Carolina football program, which is reportedly set to lose this key player to the transfer portal.
The Gamecocks are taking a hit at the running back position, as Mario Anderson is planning to enter the portal, per reports.
After spending the first four years of his college career at Newberry, where he was a Division II All-American, Anderson joined South Carolina ahead of the 2023 season and was the Gamecocks’ leading rusher.
In his lone campaign at South Carolina, Anderson rushed for 707 yards and three touchdowns while averaging 4.9 yards per carry.
The Summerville, S.C., native also caught 22 passes for 153 yards and another touchdown.
