Former Clemson defensive lineman DJ Reader was very candid this week while discussing those who doubt the Cincinnati Bengals, and specifically people who disrespect him personally on social media.
Speaking about social media negativity, Reader said he nearly told one critical commenter that he was ready to fight.
“I almost had to tell a dude in the comments one day, like, ‘Bro, you know I fight, right? Like, we can fight right now,’” Reader said, via James Rapien of AllBengals.com
Reader doesn’t try to tune out his haters on social media. Instead, he actually goes looking for negative comments.
However, Reader made it clear that he’d rather not have to search for them.
If people have something to say about him, Reader wants them to say it directly – press the at button and tag him.
“I have time. I have time to go back and forth with people. And if you’re going to say something about me, put my name on it – at me. Please. At me,” said Reader, who played at Clemson from 2012-15 and is currently in his fourth season with the Bengals.
“Don’t say just D.J. Reader, and I gotta go looking for it – at me. @Djread98, I believe it is. Just at it. Press the at button if you’re going to tweet me, and let me know personally that way I see it and I don’t gotta go look for it.”
“You know I fight, right? Like, we can fight.” – DJ Reader (@Djread98) keeps it 💯when asked about his approach on social media. Not only does he see it, he hunts it down.
